**Why we love it**

State of the Snowpack Public Safety Society is a community-led public safety initiative that supports Canadian mountain communities host free avalanche awareness and snowpack education events across Canada throughout the winter season. Our goal is simple: help more people come home safely from the mountains by making avalanche information and local expertise more accessible while bringing communities together. Our Zeffy donation form gives supporters a direct way to contribute to that mission while clearly showing the impact their donations make possible.

Instead of focusing on organizational needs, we focus on the outcomes donors help make possible. During the 2025/26 winter season, the State of the Snowpack network hosted 40 free events across 10 mountain communities, reaching more than 4,400 people in person and over 6,500 through livestreams. By helping supporters understand who benefits from their donations and why the work matters, the conversation becomes about shared impact rather than fundraising.
