Dinner at the Museum for Honor Flight

Dinner at the Smithsonian Museum of American History was launched just days before we began our 10th Honor Flight Mission to Washington DC. Although we didn't quite meet our fundraising goal before the actually had dinner at the museum, the campaign is still open and will hit the goal before we celebrate the Mission with a reunion in late June.

Honor Flight is a national organization with the mission of sending military Veterans on all expenses-paid trips to Washington, DC to visit the memorials established in their honor. Since our focus is on Veterans serving 1941-1975, they did not receive the heroes welcome home they deserved. Our hub is committed to provided that much deserved honor and recognition through a three day trip to WDC. In addition to the typical memorial visits, we add other fun and exciting landmarks in the DC area. Further, and perhaps most importantly, each Veteran is paired with a high school student to serve as caregiver, navigator, confidante, and friend. Our hub bridges the generation gap and helps foster a lifelong friendship between the generations.

Donors were allowed to donate in honor or memory of a beloved member of the armed services.
