We're a volunteer-run safe streets advocacy group aimed at eliminating traffic fatalities on our roads. We've raised $10,029 across 254 donations on Zeffy. This is a mix of individual donations and monthly donors. We also ran one large event through Zeffy which brought in a lot of donations. We find it's been effective to transparently explain to people exactly how their donations will be used. Our main expense is paying our one salaried employee who organizes all our volunteers and community events, and people seem to understand this and appreciate the openness. You need great people to do great work!

One tip: We've run a couple free events through Zeffy. For these, although the ticket is free, we've had an optional button to add a $5 donation or custom donation. It's a great way to keep community events accessible while giving an easy option for people who want to chip in a bit.
