Why it worked:

Seed Peace is working to provide mental health, wellness, and support services for regenerative farmers. The organization was created in memory of my brother, Casey, who struggled with these same challenges as a farmer before taking his own life. Our goal is to help other farmers access care and support before they reach a crisis point.

Build sustainability into your program. At Seed Peace, our FarmStrong participants make a small annual "Pay It Forward" donation toward their benefits. This creates shared ownership, helps stretch donor dollars further, and allows the program to support more farmers over time while reducing long-term dependence on fundraising alone.

Zeffy made accepting donations easy at a time where we were grieving just 6 months after my brothers death, we were able to train therapist in agriculture informed therapy, provide grants to farmers and focus on how we can keep this tragedy from happening to more farmers. If we have no farmers, we have no food.
