This year’s Loisaida Festival donation form provided our community with a simple, accessible way to support the Festival and Loisaida, Inc.’s year-round cultural work. Raising $9,260 across 13 donations is a reminder that every contribution, large or small, helps sustain the artists, cultural workers, community partners, and neighbors who make Loisaida such a powerful space of belonging. It allowed donors to immediately understand that their support was helping preserve and celebrate Puerto Rican, Nuyorican, Caribbean, Latinx, immigrant, and Lower East Side cultural traditions through Loisaida Center’s free and accessible public programming.

What we would repeat:

One thing we would absolutely repeat is tying the donation appeal to a specific community moment—in this case, the Loisaida Festival, while still connecting it to the organization's broader year-round work. That helped people see their donation not just as a gift, but as an investment in cultural memory, public space, and community building.
