We are an educational foundation so stating what we use the donations for clearly in our title and descriptions makes a difference to our supporters. Our explanation that we use the funds to support our local schools makes a big difference.

What we repeat: We use this form at our free events with a sign and QR code that says we exist solely on donations and are all volunteers. The entry suggested donation is $10 , which is less than most entry fees for any type of comparable event.
