Why it worked:

Immediate need in immediate crisis requesting stability for a length of time instead of a one off is what helped it work. Making sure to connect with a person that had the trust of a community and reliable self grown community network to collectively push the cause to a caring people was #1 key. It had to be one hard push because people get weary.

Repeat:

A fundraiser should always give option with good reasoning, for monthly recurring donations. Then follow with updates of progress with photos and description to those donors to keep them as long as possible. They need to see in real time how their support matters.
