Our Chai Club is a monthly donor program, and is the steady foundation that keeps our work going throughout the year.
Monthly giving allows us to plan ahead and respond when individuals and families need help.
Over the last 12 months, 20 monthly donors contributed $11,577 through the Chai Club.
A donor who gives $36 a month may not feel like they are making a major gift at one time, but over the year they are helping build the reliable support that makes real programs and personal care possible.
This is deeply personal. We invite people to be a part of something that touches the lives of individuals. To make a personal difference.
We build relationships with our donors and help them understand the value they bring.
We share personal stories from recipients, albeit anonymous, so donors know the impact of their efforts. One person at a time.
One thing we’d repeat:
Once a year, we run a focused ten-day Chai Club campaign to bring in new monthly donors.
The campaign is supported by emails, personal phone calls, and text message reminders.
The emails introduce the campaign, explain why monthly giving matters, and share the personal impact of the work.
The phone calls are especially important because they turn the campaign from a general appeal into a relationship-based invitation.
They give us the opportunity to thank people, answer questions, share why their participation matters, and invite them to become part of a growing circle of care.
The text messages serve as brief reminders and help people follow through.
We repeat this campaign annually because monthly donors usually stay involved for years, and each year the number of participants grows.
The best lesson we learned is this: do not treat monthly giving as only a donation form.
Treat it as a relationship.
When people understand that their monthly gift creates stability, consistency, and care for real people throughout the entire year, they are proud to be part of it.
