Why it works: The Heroes Among Us is a non profit deeply rooted in support of law enforcement, emergency services, and fire departments. When hurricane Helene struck Western NC, we stepped up and out deploying. volunteers, supplies, and funds to help survivors with immediate needs first and have continued to work with them on their long term recovery (now 21 months out). This form is fast and easy. We have an assortment of donation options for all budgets so users can quickly choose, click, and donate! Our followers love and support our efforts. Using Zeffy has made the support process super simple and affordable.

One thing another non profit could repeat: It is ALWAYS about the mission first and foremost. Be willing to be vulnerable and TELL THE STORY!! Over and over, share the stories of the work you have done, you are doing, and you plan to do. People love to hear a story (good and bad). When you can be passionate about the work you are doing and are willing to share the heart of the story behind what you are doing, the money will flow easily on its own.
