Building on Recurring Giving
Uganda Dream School in Kasenge provides free education, two meals a day, and in many cases housing for AIDs orphans and children whose parents are imprisoned, and we have about 300 students. We have always encouraged donors to do a monthly sponsorship, but before Zeffy we had to count on them remembering to send.
By showing donors how easy it is to set up recurring giving and that a monthly smaller amount ultimately has a greater impact than a one-time larger gift, we grew our recurring donor base from 169 in 2024 to 469 at the end of 2025, and our monthly average donation dollars grew by 56%.
As the US Director (sounds fancier than it is - our whole administration is me, a treasurer, a secretary, and our school manager in Uganda) the biggest thing I notice is that I'm not having to constantly plead for "emergency" donations. Now when we do have a special request for funds, the message has more impact and many of our recurring givers will also respond to a special request.
