New York District Kiwanis Foundation - Kamp Kiwanis - over $10,000 with over 100 donors

Kamp Kiwanis is a week long sleep away camp for economically disadvantaged and special needs youth ages 8-14. In addition, we also take children of military parents. These children attend the camp at no cost to them. The camper fees are paid by Kiwanis Clubs, other donors and grants.

This form has been great for us because it provided our donors with another way to submit payment for campers. Individuals can chose to set up a monthly re-occurring donation and when they look at the form, it shares what each amount pays for. For example, a $10 monthly donation pays for food for 1 child and a $50 monthly donation pays for clothing for a camper for 1 week. We also accept one time donations and provide some suggested amounts but also allows for any amount. Donors can chose where to direct these funds and if it is in honor of an individual or in memory of someone.

By having a web link and QR code, rather than just a mailing address, we have made it easier for donors to make donations and information to be shared at events. We have found some individuals will immediately go online when they receive the information and make the donation rather than having to remember to do it when they have their checkbook handy.

In addition, the sending of a 'thank you' email immediately when the donation is made, has made it easier for our volunteer board of directors because we do not have to remember to send thank you laters. The fact that the system also sends tax receipts makes it easier on our staff and board of directors at the end of the year because these can be generated in one simple step rather than the time consuming process it used to be.

Since we have started using Zeffy, we have set up multiple campaigns for our various fundraisers and have found it has increased donations and made it so much easier to manage fundraising events.
