This event was successful for 2 key reasons: (1) We've made an effort to partner with Universities for marketing our Workshop Fundraiser events and (2) Individuals are receiving something in return for their donation/participation. While we aren't a University ourselves, our events are being promoted and legitimized by them and allowing students to learn foundational knowledge at a very affordable rate while also contributing to a mental health charity.

For other nonprofits, strategic partnerships and credibility management are the two keys here. High credibility or legitimization in the topic area can pay dividends in terms of community engagement. For strategic partnerships, it's important to keep in mind that not all partnerships are created equal. Some are better suited for different event types and strategic planning.
