A Chorus Crime: A Valentine’s Dinner Theatre Fundraiser That Sold Out Community Spirit

Our Valentine’s fundraiser brought together everything we love about community theatre. We created an original cabaret-style murder mystery written and performed by local talent, paired with a catered 3-course meal, for an immersive night that felt truly special and unlike anything else in our season.

We sold 84 tickets and raised $6,300 in support of our mission and our summer production of Footloose. The room was full of energy all night, with audiences engaged in a story they could only experience here, performed by people from right here in our community.

What made it work was keeping it local and personal. The script was written in-house, the performers were local, and the meal was catered by a local partner who helped elevate the entire experience. We also revealed our summer show at the end of the evening, which added a fun moment of excitement and anticipation.

The night was a beautiful shared experience that showed what community theatre can be when it is built together.
