Why it worked
We designed our event form to sell the experience—not just the ticket. Rather than simply listing the date, time, and location, we created a premium event landing page that immersed donors in what their evening would feel like. Every section was intentionally crafted to build anticipation—from the elegant branding and immersive event description to the entertainment lineup, curated menu, signature cocktails, keepsake gifts, dress code, and personalized ticket experiences. By answering guests’ questions before they had to ask them, we built confidence, excitement, and trust that helped us sell 244 tickets and raise $15,435.
One thing another nonprofit could repeat
Treat your registration form like part of your marketing—not just the place where donors buy tickets. Tell the story of your event before asking people to register. Use compelling visuals and an easy-to-follow event overview so supporters can picture themselves attending before they click “Buy Tickets.” Invest as much effort into your event page as you do into promoting your event because the page should continue selling the experience after someone clicks your link.
Some elements that made our form memorable and could be adapted by other organizations include:
Creating a strong, cohesive brand identity from the very first image.
Writing an engaging event narrative instead of listing only logistics.
Including an “At a Glance” section that clearly sets expectations.
Organizing entertainment, food, drinks, and special experiences into easy-to-scan sections.
Using the dress code to reinforce the event theme and atmosphere.
Giving ticket levels creative names that become part of the overall experience rather than using generic labels like “General Admission” or “VIP.”
These details transformed our registration form into an extension of the event itself, helping supporters become excited long before they arrived.
