Mardi Gras Mixer: A Simple Way to Include and Celebrate School Staff

PFSO’s Mardi Gras Mixer & Silent Auction is an adults-only community fundraising event featuring drinks, appetizers, desserts, raffles, a silent auction, and a festive Mardi Gras Prize Shuffle. It’s a fun evening where parents and staff come together to connect, celebrate, and raise funds supporting student programs, teacher grants, and campus improvements at Foothill Tech High School.

Why We Love It
We love that this form makes generosity easy. Alongside regular ticket purchases, supporters can choose to add a donation or gift a ticket to a Foothill Tech staff member. That simple option creates a tangible connection between families, community members, and the educators who support our students, turning the event into a shared celebration rather than just a fundraiser.

What's One Thing We'd Repeat

We'd absolutely repeat including a dedicated "Gift a Ticket to Staff" option directly in the registration form. It gave supporters an easy way to recognize and include school staff without requiring a separate campaign or process. Because the option was presented at checkout, participation was simple and friction-free, helping us expand engagement and strengthen community connection.

Results
The Mardi Gras Mixer & Silent Auction raised $4,405 in total support for Foothill Technology High School programs and student enrichment.

The community showed strong engagement across all participation options, including 107 general admission tickets sold, 15 staff gift tickets purchased, and $135 in additional direct donations.

Together, these results reflect both strong attendance and meaningful generosity beyond ticket sales, including intentional support for school staff.
