In rural Appalachian communities, many children face barriers to reading success, including limited access to specialized literacy support and enrichment opportunities. The WELX Phonics Summer Camp was created to help bridge that gap by providing engaging, research-based instruction focused on phonics, early reading skills, confidence-building, and a love of learning. Campers participate in small-group phonics lessons along with fitness, art, play, and hands-on activities designed to make learning both effective and fun. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, belong, and thrive, and we proudly welcome children with diverse learning needs and abilities.
When a community member enrolls a child in Phonics Summer Camp, you're doing more than investing in a young reader's future.
