Hello from Nathan @ Jiwa International

Greetings everyone! My name is Nathan, founder and executive director of Jiwa International. After over 8 years of working in Asia as English teachers and in community development, my wife and I founded this organization in 2023 to support vulnerable migrant workers. Our primary work is in Taiwan supporting Indonesian migrant workers. We have opened a community center/cafe where we host community events, language and vocational skill classes, as well as offer mobile markets to provide a taste of home and support for those migrant workers living far from SE Asian shops with minimal transportation options. We're in the midst of a capital campaign to expand our mobile markets. Zeffy's landing pages makes it easy for both us and our donors to keep an eye on the goal.

When we started Jiwa International, we were taking a huge personal risk. We were covering the initial start up costs ourselves and were trying to do as much as we could ourselves in order to direct the most amount of funds towards our mission. I knew we needed a funding platform, but was concerned about the amount of money we would lose to transaction fees. But then I found Zeffy and thought it would be a great starting point and I could switch to something else in the future if needed. But three years later, Zeffy is still a great fit for our organization, especially as it expands its features! We're slowly moving our newsletters and 100% of our tax receipts over to Zeffy.
