Zeffy tap-to-pay Question

I am new to Zeffy so setting up items. I went ahead and downloaded the app to my phone to see if I could answer this question on own but not able to determine an answer.

If someone wants to pay in person with a card but their card does not have the chip to do tap-to-pay, is there an option in the app to input information more manually? Or would someone have to go through the website (once I get that set up) and fill it out there? I could help them complete, of course, but thinking about persons that might want to keep more control but not have a phone on hand themselves.

Perhaps I'm overthinking it, but I can say at the moment I have a debit card that is waiting to be replaced (when it expires) and does not have a chip for tap-to-pay.

Hi Gary, thanks for your question. The Tap to Pay app only works with contactless, tap-enabled cards, so there isn’t a way to manually key in a card number inside the app itself. For a card that can’t tap, the web version of your form is the way to go. You can share the form link or pull up the form’s QR code for the person to scan. They can enter their card number, expiration date, and CVC there. If they don’t have a phone on hand, you can open the form on your own device and enter the details for them. Zeffy doesn’t connect to an external card reader, so the web form is the best option for any non-tap card. Hope that helps, and welcome to Zeffy!

We have found that most people have Google or Apple Pay on their phone if they don't have a chip card. They can also tap their phone so that works as well . For those that don’t have that option, a QR code directly to your campaign on zeffy is the quickest. Then they just add their credit card info there.
