Meeting a donor need in minutes

Just yesterday a long time supporter passed away. She chose our organization be one of the donations that people give to in lieu of flowers (I hadn't been aware of this). Her daughter called saying someone wanted to give but didn't see the option on our website to give in her honour.

Initially I was going to create a whole new zeffy form, add a picture etc. but instead decide to use our existing form where you could designate the money. All I did was add "In honour of..." and put it to the top of the options to choose from.

I told the daughter I made the change while I was chatting with her and she was able to tell the donor it was ready. It just took a couple minutes. I'll be leaving "In Honour of..." at the top for a couple weeks before removing it.

Such an effective and simple solution for a real-time need while minimizing any additional stress for the family.
